James "Jim" Brown passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, holding the hand of his beloved wife, Ludo.
Jim was born on March 11, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He and Ludo shared a remarkable marriage of 61 years, building a life centered on faith, family, service, and love.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ludo; his three sons and their spouses; and five cherished grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Throughout his life, Jim was deeply committed to serving others, particularly those most in need. He devoted countless hours to charitable and community organizations, quietly making a difference in the lives of many. His service included helping feed and care for the homeless through the Night Light Under the Bridge ministry, volunteering with Reading Partners, where he specifically requested to work with students facing the greatest academic challenges, and participating in numerous social outreach ministries through his church.
Jim was also a Founding Member of the Hispanic American Foundation of Tulsa. He was passionate about the organization's mission to celebrate and share the richness of Hispanic culture while providing scholarships that help students pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.
Jim touched the hearts of many through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others. During the holiday season, family and friends eagerly anticipated his famous pumpkin bread and date nut bread, which became treasured traditions and expressions of his love.
The Brown family is eternally grateful to the many caregivers who cared for Jim throughout his journey, both at home and at Inverness. Their compassion, kindness, and commitment allowed Jim to be treated with the love, dignity, and respect he so richly deserved.
In lieu of flowers, the Brown family requests that memorial donations be made to Parish of Christ the King and/or Church of the Resurrection in memory of Jim Brown.
Jim's legacy of faith, service, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched.
