Obituary

James Henry Carpenter known as Jim, Dad and Grandpa was a dedicated family man. He was born in Paris, Arkansas on October 21, 1928 and died November 9, 2011 just 2 months after his diagnosis of lung cancer. Jim passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his five devoted children, Mark Carpenter (Vickie) Connie Snow (Denny) Dana Krauss (John) Linda Maddox and Kelly Kendall (Jeff). His beloved wife of fifty years, Rosella Carpenter, preceded him in death and in addition to his 5 children, he is survived by 14 treasured grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jim spent time in Arkansas, Missouri and Montana before coming to Oklahoma to graduate with a Doctor of Pharmacy and starting his career as a pharmacist. After a rewarding career in pharmacy, Jim retired from St. John Medical Center. He did some traveling after retirement, but he loved fishing in the lakes of Montana and Oklahoma, playing the piano and clarinet by ear and playing a game of snooker or 9 ball. His witty personality coupled with his intellect lead him to many cherished friendships. Friends and family are invited to attend a prayer service on Sunday, November 13th at 4pm at the Church of St Mary, a Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 14th at 10am at the Church of St Mary with interment at Calvary Cemetery. Friends can honour Jim's memory with contributions to Church of St Mary, Catholic Charities or St. John Hospice.
