James Bryan Hettick age 61, better known as Papa to those who loved him went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on July 10, 2023, in Tulsa, OK. He was born on June 24, 1962, in Lafayette Louisiana to parents Lola and Bart Hettick. He attended Mannford High School and Graduated from the school of Hard Knocks top of his Class 2 years early. Thats when He moved to Tulsa and Married the love of his fast paced 16 year old life, Melinda, where they laid down their roots, made a family and called it home for 44 years.
In 1988 he began his career in the shipping industry and was a staunch union member for more than 30 years at what started as Liberty Glass and eventually changed hands multiple times to become part of the Ardagh Group. He retired in 2019. James was deeply involved in many hobbies and passions over the years but most of his leisure joy revolved around fishing and family. Known as a take No crap from nobody guy in the world, but at home he was known for his fun loving sense of humor and goofball antics.
He is survived by his loving loyal Wife Melinda Hettick, Daughter Bambi Campbell and Her husband Eric, His Son Chris Hettick and his wife Anna. 6 Amazing Grandchildren Destiny Collins and her husband Colton, Savannah Campbell, Eli Campbell, Zoe Hettick, Zeke Hettick, Cooper Hettick, and 1 Great Grandchild Daniel Collins; who were all affectionately known as either Papa's girl or Papa's boy.
He is also survived by his Brother Robert Hettick and is preceded in death by his Mother Lola and 3 brothers, Francis, Jesse, and Tony Hettick to which he was known to that fraternal band of MisFits as Bulldog.
A funeral is scheduled in James' honor on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel at 12:00 pm
