Obituary

Jim Reinkemeyer

James Edward (Jim) Reinkemeyer, 62, of Broken Arrow went to our Lord on December 31, 2017 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, OK from complications due to ALS. He was a deeply adored husband, father, brother, son and friend. He was born December 23, 1955 in Arkansas City, KS - the son of Leo Robert Reinkemeyer and Theresa Chandler Reinkemeyer.  He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Arkansas City Junior and High Schools, and the University of Kansas where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Jim was last employed at the Navistar Bus Plant for many years until his ALS kept him from doing his best.

Catfish Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Each year he would catch hundreds of catfish for the annual Reinkemeyer Crawfish Party.  He was happiest spending time outdoors and enjoying time with his family and friends.  Jim truly loved helping others and worked hard to serve the Lord.  He was an active member of Christ Gospel Church in Tulsa.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanie Daugherty Reinkemeyer, his sisters Nancy (Curt) Diebel of Overland Park, KS and Ann Stites of Lawrence, KS and his brother Phillip (Jeanne) Reinkemeyer of Parker, TX and his two daughters Shay Smith of Bixby, OK and Katie (Jeremy) Crombie of Little Elm, TX, both daughters of his former wife, Valorie Bryan. Jim was preceded in death by both parents and his brother David (Diane) Reinkemeyer who also had ALS.  Also surviving him are his grandchildren Bethany Amyx, Zachary Paul Smith, Jr., Zayne Smith and McKinsey Howell and his wife's children Curtis (Celestial) Daugherty, Jason Daugherty, Shannon Daugherty, and Derrick (Summer) Daugherty and numerous grandchildren.  Jim lit up every room with his loving smile and will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 4th from 5-8 pm at the Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 East 91st Street South, Tulsa.  A funeral service will be held Friday, January 5th at noon at the Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 East 91st Street South, Tulsa.
