Obituary

James Clifford Lalicker, 76, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Tulsa.

Born on August 6, 1949, in Denton, Texas, to proud parents Bill and Shirley Lalicker, James grew up with a curiosity that would define his life. He graduated from Memorial High School in Houston in 1967 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving honorably during the Vietnam era. After his service, he pursued his passion for electronics through studies at the Spartan School of Aeronautics.

In 1972, James married the love of his life, Judy, and together they built a warm, welcoming home and a life full of love in Broken Arrow. He enjoyed a successful career as Quality Control Director at AMI, Inc., but was perhaps proudest of building his own house with his own hands-a testament to his skill and determination.

James was a true Renaissance man: he knew a little bit about almost everything, from electronics and backpacking trails to history, science, and countless other subjects. His love of reading books, and enjoying YouTube documentaries on any topic fueled endless conversations and made him the go-to person for advice or a fascinating fact. He was an active and devoted parishioner at St Anne parish serving on building committees, cooking for the annual Entertainment Show, serving as a lector and Eucharistic Minister and for many years he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. James was a faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners football, and nothing brought him greater joy than gathering around a campfire with family, sharing stories late into the night.

Above all, James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend-dependable, kind, and always ready with a positive word or helping hand. He made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Shirley Lalicker, and his sister Barbara Iverson.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Judy Lalicker of Broken Arrow; his four sons and their families: Jason and Lisa Lalicker (Lawrence, KS), Adam and Adriana Lalicker (Sturgis, SD), Matthew and Jodi Lalicker (Broken Arrow, OK), and Marc Lalicker (Broken Arrow, OK); his sisters Jill Flake of Tulsa, OK, and Joanne Lalicker of Petaluma, CA; and his 13 cherished grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Anne Ministry of Compassion or The Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
