James A. Murray, was born December
4, 1936 and passed into the
presence of our Lord on July 21,
2012.
Jim attended grade school
through high school at Marquette.
He graduated from the University
of Notre Dame and completed his
Doctorate at St. Louis University
Medical School.
While serving
6 years in the U.S. Navy he performed
his internship and residency
at the National Naval Medical
Center in Bethesda, MD, as
Chief Resident. His appointments included
Chief of Pediatrics at the U.S. Naval Hospital,
Annapolis, MD. Fellowships at Baylor
University in Houston, McGovern Allergy
Clinic Houston and attending Physician at
Children's Hospital, Texas Medical Center,
Dallas.
Preceded in death by daughter Suzanne
Anderson and parents, Maude and
George Murray. Survived by loving family
members: wife: Susan Murray, siblings
Ruth Anne Murray (Tulsa), George Murray
(WA), Greg Murray (CA) and
Paul Fletcher Murray (CA), son
David Murray (CA) and daughter
Heather O'Donnell (CA).
Jim loved golf, tennis, skiing and
water sports,. He was an avid animal
lover and fan of OU and Notre
Dame football. He established and
sponsored the "Jelly Belly" golf
tournament to benefit the Tulsa
University Women's golf team
for 18 years. He was a member of
the Tulsa Ozark Club and Southern
Hills Country Club.
Visitation Monday,
July 30, from 5-7 p.m. at Fitzgerald's
Southwood followed by a rosary in the chapel.
Memorial service is Tuesday, July 31,
at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to the Tulsa SPCA, First United Methodist
Church, Challenge Aspen, and Adaptive
Sports in Crested Butte, CO.
