Obituary
James E. Watkins, Jr. passed away early Friday, June 6, 2014,
at the age of 89. Jim was preceded in death by daughters, Lois Lianne
and Michele M. Moore, and is survived by son, Mark Watkins
and sister, Betty L. Ojevich; three grandchildren, Anna Moore,
Joanne Watkins DeLong and Paul Watkins; and one great-grandson,
Alexander (Lex) DeLong. A graduate of OSU, his career
was in chemistry, but his avocation was musical theater and entertainment. He was an active participant in Tulsa
Opera Chorus and Light Opera of Oklahoma, and a faithful performer with Christ the King Cherry Street Follies and Opera by the Slice.
Jim was a veteran of World War II and a lifelong member
of DAV, proud of his family and devoted to his Catholic
faith. He will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered for his
gentleness, charm and humor. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00
AM, Tuesday, Christ The King Catholic Church. Prayer service,
Monday, 7:00 PM, at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel.
