James Hardin Williams, age 88, died in his Tulsa home Monday, December 27, 2010. He was born to parents Clement B. and Genevieve Piper Williams in Muskogee, Oklahoma on October 4, 1922.
Jim served our country twice in the armed forces, first as a telephone and telegraph lineman for the U.S. Army during World War II, and then as a Staff Sargeant for the Adjutant General of the Oklahoma National Guard during the Korean War.
Jim married Clara Margaret "Margie" Hugo and had a wonderful family with her. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2009.
Jim worked at American Airlines for 36 years before retiring as a Senior Mechanic. He was active in Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree), Catholic Charities, Meals on Wheels, American Airlines Retiree Club and his church, Saints Peter and Paul Parish.
He is survived by his children, James Barry Williams, Patricia Lewis, Shirley Kongs and two grandchildren.
A Rosary will be 5:30 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2010 and a Funeral Mass will be 12 Noon, Friday, January 7, 2010, both at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1436 N. 67th E. Ave. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
