Janet Lowe Murphy, 65, of Tulsa, OK passed away suddenly at St. Francis Hospital on May 13th, 2024.

Janet was born on May 3, 1959, in Winston-Salem, N.C., to David and Ella Mae (Murphy) Lowe. She attended college following high school before setting off on a career in the graphic arts industry. She worked for several Fortune 500 companies and relocated to New York, Ohio & Virginia before returning home to Winston-Salem and finishing out her career with Southern Graphics Systems.

She met the love of her life, Tom Murphy, while on assignment with a mutual customer in Athens, GA. They fell in love and were married on the beach in Duck, N.C., surrounded by family on June 27th, 2012. She retired early and moved to Tulsa, OK to be with her husband.

Janet enjoyed world travel, music concerts, blues cruises, golf along with her ladies golf league and her Tulsa family. She enjoyed watching the grandkids grow and compete in soccer, gymnastics, football, lacrosse and horseback riding from pre-school to college.

She is survived by her mother, Ella Mae Lowe (90) of Hickory, N.C.; Husband Thomas Murphy of Tulsa, OK; Stepson Shawn, Rachel, Ryder & Morgan Murphy of Broken Arrow, OK; Stepson Ryan, Crystal, Dylan & Madeline Murphy of Collinsville, OK; Brother Ken & Maribeth Lowe of Madison, VA; Brother Brent Lowe of Hickory, N.C.; Nephew David & Hanna Lowe of Portland, OR; Nephew T.C. & Catherine Lowe of North Garden, VA.

A celebration of Janet's life will be Saturday, July 6 from 3-6 pm at LaFortune Park Golf Course dining room. Her ashes will be interred at the Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa, OK. Janet wanted to give the gift of life, after she passed away. LifeShare of Oklahoma helped her wish of giving back a reality.
