Obituary

Janice Boyle, 78, of Broken Arrow, passed away surrounded by her husband and sons on Saturday, November 17, 2018.  A Memorial Service will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1.  A reception for attendees will follow.  Janice was born on June 29, 1940 on a farm between Wewoka and Wetumka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Alonzo and Dorothy (Scott) Beavers.  Janice later moved to Oklahoma City where she met her husband, Bob Boyle.  They shared 56 wonderful years together while living in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Phoenix, Dallas, Edmond, and finally Broken Arrow.  As an adult, Janice completed her undergraduate degree at Langston University while simultaneously working full-time as an intellectual property legal assistant at the law firm that is now Head, Johnson, Kachigan & Wilkinson and raising two teenage sons.  Throughout her life, Janice demonstrated a consistent commitment to service.  Hunger was a particular area of focus for her, spending significant hours over the years supporting both Broken Arrow Neighbors and Iron Gate in Tulsa. She was a woman of faith.  Survivors include Janice's husband, Bob, and two sons, Brad Boyle and his wife Cynthia Nixon Boyle of Tulsa, and Chris Boyle and his husband Cole Moir of Chicago.  She is also survived by three grandchildren, Saxon Nixon of Tulsa, Madison Robinson of Broken Arrow, and Zoe Boyle of Tulsa, two great grandchildren, and her sister, Gay Krueger of Naperville.  She was blessed to have an extraordinary extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother- and father-in-law, Lawrence and Alice Boyle, and brother, Scotty Beavers. The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Dana Reynolds, the care workers and staff at Autumn Leaves, and those from Physician's Choice Hospice who helped support Janice and her family over the last year. All were remarkable. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Janice's name to Iron Gate at http://www.irongatetulsa.org/donate/ .
