Obituary

Jaymeson Michael West, 16, of Broken Arrow, died on Friday, September 29, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Jaymeson was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on August 5, 2001. He was a Junior at Broken Arrow High School where he played alto saxophone in the Pride of Broken Arrow marching band, and also played tenor saxophone in one of the school's symphonic bands. He was an honors student and participated in the advanced placement program. He enjoyed wake surfing, reading, video games, anime, and spending time with his band section. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, love of bow ties, and for standing up for those around him that could not do for themselves. May his spirit live on forever in the stories of those he helped.

Jaymeson is survived by his parents, Shannon Schwarz and her husband Chris of Broken Arrow, and Michael West and his wife Erin of Ada, siblings, Cooper Scherman of Broken Arrow, Caitlin Spencer of Ada, and Cora West of Ada, grandparents, Howard and Janelle Peters of McAlester, Tony and Wanda Schwarz of McAlester, Larry and Paula West of Ada, and Kerry Canada-Smith of Stillwater, great grandparents, Jimmie Ann Utterback of McAlester, Doris Peters of McAlester, and Herbert "Buzz" Henry of Kiowa, uncle and namesake, Jay Peters and his wife Annette of Tulsa, uncles, Dr. James Utterback and wife Karrie of Seminole, John Schwarz and his wife Renae of Broken Arrow, Joey Schwarz and wife Toni of Broken Arrow, Terry Bunch and his wife Ramona of Konawa, Daniel Buford and Nate Clark of Tucson, Arizona, aunts, Annette Sillmon of McAlester, Amy Mayhue and her husband Mason of Ada, Stacy Smith of Stillwater, and Jo Lynn Sweat and her husband Joe of Farmington, New Mexico, cousins, Jonathan Peters, Emily Peters, Kimberlee and Brice Ott, Sam Harris, Ronnie Lee and Gwen Sillmon, Hayden Sillmon, Chloe Sillmon, Eli Sillmon, Amanda and Jeff Hayworth, Sara Utterback, Matthew Schwarz, Nickolas Schwarz, Hannah Schwarz, Carter Schwarz, Robert Sweat, Sheree Cox, Janae Brauning, Trey Bunch, Preslee Cox, Talyler Cox, Colton Brauning, Ruger Brauning, Hadley Sweat, Toby Sweat, Waylon Bunch and numerous other extended family members, friends, fellow classmates, and band mates.

He was preceded in death by James V. Utterback, great grandfather, Sherrill Peters, great grandfather, Melva Henry, great grandmother, Gordon Henry and Eleanor Ruth Schwarz, great grandparents, Ronnie Sillmon, Uncle, Paul T and Johnnie Mae Bunch, great grandparents, and Harold and Eva Lee West, great grandparents.
