Jerry James "JJ" Conley, 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on August 8th, 2025, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Jerry was born on November 18th, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Miles and Delphine Conley. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1961, attended Oklahoma State University, and served in the United States Air Force.
After leaving the Air Force, Jerry began his work career in marketing for Faultless Starch, but left to follow his passion to live and work in California. It was there he began working in lighting and sound for Motion Picture and NBC and CBS television, with shows such as the Johnny Carson Show, the Dean Martin Show, situation comedies and game shows. He was a longtime member and gold card recipient of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees(I.A.T.S.E.) In the 1970s, he returned to Tulsa and opened a business of his own. J.J.'s Burgers at 647 S. Peoria. It was there he settled down and completed his career sharing not only his well known burgers, but also his stories of working in the entertainment industry.
His interest ranged from the world of entertainment to searching the Bible scriptures. He enjoyed home decorating, gardening and time spent with family and friends. Jerry loved his Lord Jesus Christ.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Stephen Conley. He is survived by his brother, Wes Conley(Shirley), nephew, Scott Conley, and numerous cousins and friends. A Private graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 16.
