Obituary
Jerry Roger Nelson, surrounded by family and friends, went to be with his Lord on December 23, 2012.
Jerry, the youngest of eight children, was born in Muskogee, OK, on October 18, 1925 to Pearl and Raymond Nelson. After graduating from St. Joseph's Preparatory School in 1943, he served in the army in the European theatre. Jerry worked for the U.S. Geological Survey for most of his career.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Donna (Salyers) Nelson, daughter Cathy, and son Tony (Suzanne). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Sarah Donohue (Joel), Meredith Nelson, and Jack Nelson and by his four great-grandchildren, Lucy, Elias, James, and Samuel Donohue. Jerry never met a stranger and he will be missed by all who knew him. Friends can honor Jerry's memory with donations to Meals on Wheels or Marquette School Adopt-a-Student.
Rosary will be Thursday, 7:00 p.m., and Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 11:00 a.m., both at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow Friday, at 3:00 p.m., at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.
