Jerry Puckett, MD, age 81, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024. He was born in Arkansas on August 19,1943 and raised in the town of Mena.
Jerry practiced as an Otolaryngologist for 41 years with Warren Clinic. Before his medical practice, he practiced Dentistry and then joined the US Army in which he was a Captain and served as a Dentist. After the US Army, he immediately entered Medical School and then began his career as a Head and Neck Surgeon in Tulsa.
After he retired, he became a self-taught skilled woodworker and built high fidelity audio speakers, furniture, guitars, and guitar stands and personalized writing pens as gifts for family and friends.
His insatiable curiosity for new ideas and interests including sports cars, motorcycles, airplanes (instrument rated private pilot). He loved playing tennis, snow skiing, as well as sitting on the back porch of his home on a cool night with a good martini and some good music. Most likely if you entered his home office you would always find a new book on most any subject from art (one of his favorite interests) to science.
In 2013 he married Nanci and together they loved and enjoyed their blended family of Jerry's children, his son Wes (Amy) Puckett and his daughter Barrie Puckett, and Nanci's son, Travis Short and their grandchildren, Elle, Jack, Peyton, and Hudson.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marcia. Other survivors include brother-in-law, Don Henderson (Bobbie), Sister-in-Law, Cheri Pendergrass, many nieces, and nephews.
Jerry had a spirited and unwavering desire to help others. He was so loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Services will be on Friday, October 18 at 11:00 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3612 East 91st Street Tulsa, Ok
