James Daniel Hahn passed from this world and into God's hands on 29 October 2019. He was 59 years old, born on 13 November 1959.
There is no other person whose laugh and smile was infectious as Jimmy's. Jimmy could make a dark room light and a sad room joyful. The "Chris Farley" of his family, Jimmy could always bring light, laughter and love into a room. For years, Jimmy brought the sparkle of Christmas to children of the Hahn family by transforming himself into a personalized and unique version of Santa Claus at the Hahn family Christmas Eve celebration. The Hahn Christmas Eve celebration won't be the same without Jimmy handing out gifts to all of the family's grandchildren and great-grandchildren and, of course, the mandatory photo of Rosalie with Santa.
Jimmy had a seemingly infinite selection of facial expressions and never took two pictures with the same expression. However, his smile was unmistakable and infectious.
While taken from this world way to soon, Jimmy was able to experience some amazing moments during his life. For instance, he attended the Atlanta Braves baseball game on 8 April 1974 where Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's all time home run record.
Jimmy loved movies and music. Most of all, he was one of The Grateful Dead's most ardent fans. To prove it, Jimmy has long had a tattoo of the iconic Grateful Dead dancing bears and a personalized license plate commemorating the song Althea.
Jimmy attended grade school at the School of Saint Mary, high school at Subiaco Academy and graduated from Bishop Kelley High School in 1979. While in high school he also attended vocational training for air conditioning and refrigeration. Jimmy worked for a number of local appliance repair companies including Hahn Appliance Center and Shelton's Quality Service. At the time of his death, Jimmy was self-employed as a commercial and residential refrigeration specialist.
Jimmy is survived by: Shelton T. Hahn, Sr., father; Rosalie C. Hahn, mother; Carol Kmetz, sister; Teresa Harris, sister; Shelton Hahn, Jr., brother; and Paul Hahn, brother. Jimmy also enjoyed the company of his sisters and brothers-in-law, his numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A holy Rosary will be prayed for Jimmy on Monday, 4 November at 7:00 PM in the chapel at the Church of St. Mary, 1347 E. 49th Pl, Tulsa OK 74105. The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, 5 November, at the Church of St. Mary in the main sanctuary. A reception will be held following the funeral in Beckerle Hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Jimmy's name, to honor his mother, to the Alzheimer's Association:
