Jo Ann Culver Demo
Jo Ann was born on January 20th, 1934, in Coalgate, OK to Brit and Edith Jones. She died March 6th, 2013 at St. John Medical Center. Jo Ann graduated from Coalgate High School in 1951 and soon after graduated from St. John School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She was a talented RN working in Labor and Delivery at St. John Hospital. After marrying her husband, Louis Culver, she later became a public health nurse for the County of Tulsa and worked to support the health care needs of the underprivileged in Tulsa County. Lovingly married to Louis for 23 years, she continued to work after his death in 1979. After her retirement from Tulsa County, she married Daniel Demo and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She spent her later years living at Franciscan Villa in Broken Arrow, OK, where she continued to make new friends and still helped others. Jo Ann is survived by her son, Charles M. Culver and his wife Mary, grandsons Thomas W. Culver, Joseph L. Culver, and John A. (Jack) Culver, and sister, Gloria Framel. Visitation will be at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10th. A Prayer Service will be Sunday, 7:00 p.m., and Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, both at Christ the King Catholic Church on Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, friends may honor the memory of Jo Ann by making donations to Marquette School, 918-584-4631.
