Obituary

Jo Ann (Wilder) Finnell 88 years old, was born in Chenoa, IL on September 11, 1932 and passed from this life on February 9th, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dr. Charles F. Finnell on June 24, 2019 whom she married in Chenoa, IL on August 22, 1953.
Visitation will be held on Friday February 19th, 2021 at Fitzgerald Colonial Chapel 3612 E. 91st St. S, Tulsa, OK 74137 starting at 4:00pm ending at 7:00pm. Rosary will be prayed for Jo Ann beginning at 7:00pm in the Chapel. Funeral service will be on Saturday February 20th, 2021 at 11:00am, at St Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 4001 E. 101st St. Tulsa OK 74137, Rev. Msgr. Patrick Gaalaas officiating. Funeral Mass will be livestreamed through the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Facebook page.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William Clifton and Carrie Blanch Wilder and sisters, Mardelle (Jack) Lawless and Betty (Paul) Blackmore She is survived by: Sisters Janet (James-deceased) Kiley and Shirley (Ronald) Corrie; Eight children: Daniel (Marian), David (Anita), Kathleen Kimble (Scott), Karen Downs (Fred-deceased), Richard (Edith), Jonathan, Michael (Melissa), and Shawn (Jeana); Thirteen grandchildren: Jillian, Joel, Matt, Marta, Carrie and Christy, Jacob, Mark and Adam, Daniel and Michael , Ashley and Jessica. twelve great grandchildren: Ty, Micah, Ashton, Noah and Kennedy, Sydney, Morgan, Parker and Ayda, Jacob and Rachel, Gabriel and Isabella.
After graduating from Chenoa High School, Jo Ann worked as the switchboard operator for the high school. She was also a secretary for State Farm Insurance and a receptionist at a medical clinic. Jo Ann converted to Catholicism upon marrying Charles and remained devoted to the Church throughout her life. Whatever parish she was a member at, she always found a way to offer her time and talent. Her final parish of St Bernard's was very dear to her heart for many years.
She was a devoted "Doctor's Wife" and she loved her roles as Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She was a great conversationalist and everyone enjoyed long chats with her. She was always ready to lend a sympathetic ear to anyone who would confide in her and not shy at offering advice if she felt it was needed.
Her most endearing quality to all was her love of others and selfless desire to help anyone in need.
