Joan Marie (Hill) Allen, 89, died peacefully surrounded by her children Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Born July 9, 1925 in Tulsa, OK to Cleo M. (Reeves) and Donald N. Hill. Joan graduated from Marquette High School and then attended The University of Tulsa where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. On April 27, 1946, she married John V. "Jack" Allen in Tulsa at Christ the King Church. They spent their early married years in Tulsa and then moved to Muskogee, OK, where they lived for many years before moving to Franciscan Villa in Broken Arrow, OK.

Joan was a very loving and special person to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. She was a woman of steadfast faith and found strength in her family and church community.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and sisters, Jean Hill Montgomery and Mary Margaret Hill Sloan. Survivors include: children, Susan M. Gaylor and husband Randy, Nick Allen and wife Barbara, John V. Allen, Jr., David L. Allen and wife Linda, and Steve M. Allen and wife Jennifer; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will always remember and be so grateful to the staff members at Franciscan Villa for the loving care they provided for these many years to both Joan and Jack.

Friends are encouraged to honor Joan's memory by contributing to Catholic Charities of Tulsa or another charity of their choice.

Viewing will be 9 AM – 4 PM Thursday, at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel. Rosary will be 7 PM, Thursday, October 9th and Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM, Friday, both at Church of Saint Mary, 1347 East 49th Place, Tulsa. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
