Joan Mary Struttmann, 77, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at The Gardens in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was born on September 10, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to Mildred Belsha.
Joan grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Rosati-Kain Catholic High School in St. Louis in 1956. After high school she attended DePaul School of Nursing in St. Louis where she completed a Nursing Diploma to become a Registered Nurse. She worked for DePaul Hospital as a Registered Nurse.
Joan married Kenneth Struttmann in 1959 in Rhineland, Missouri. They were happily married for over 56 years. Joan was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Decatur, Illinois. She enjoyed volunteering, reading, sewing and crafts.
Joan is survived by her husband Kenneth of Jenks, Oklahoma; her son Steve (Melissa) of Jenks, Oklahoma; Tim of Atlanta, Georgia; Brian (Stephanie) of Tinley Park, Illinois; seven grandchildren; three great-grand children and other relatives.
Joan was preceded in death by her mother Mildred and her daughter Sandy.
A visitation will be held at Fitzgerald's Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 East 91st Street in Tulsa from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 1. A Rosary will follow at 6:00pm. A Funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 4001 East 101st Street in Tulsa at 11:00 am on Monday, May 2. Burial service will follow the funeral at Calvary Cemetery, 9101 South Harvard Avenue in Tulsa. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at Steve and Melissa Struttmann's house after the cemetery service.
