Obituary
Joann Chichura was born on July 12, 1935, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She passed away in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on November 5, 2017, she was 82.
A resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma for the last 34 years, she was a retired nurse from Saint Simeon's Retirement Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She graduated from University of Scranton with an Associate in Science and graduated from Oral Roberts University with a BA in Social Work. At the age of 65, she went back to school and became a LPN to fulfill a lifelong dream.
In 1977, at a Partners Seminar on the campus of ORU, her life was forever changed when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. This experience changed her life and the lives of many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Annabelle Chichura, and a sister Geraldine Ciesieleski.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Joy Kovaleski, of Tulsa, OK, sister Marion Lausten of Starr, SC, sister and brother in-law, Ann and David Aho of The Villages, FL, sister and brother in-law, Arlene and Eugene Danchak of Belleville, NJ, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Lord first and foremost, the staffs of Asbury Inverness at Home, A-Vow Hospice, Ranch Terrace Nursing Home, friends and family members for the care of her in her final season.
Viewing for family and friends will be November, 8, 2017 from 5-8 pm at Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E 91st Street, Tulsa, OK 74137. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Quest Whole Person Scholarship program at Oral Roberts University, Office of Development, 7777 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa, OK 74171. 918-495-6928.
