Anderson, John Howard, 73, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 in his home in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. John was born May 17, 1944 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Edgar Howard and Orieda Horn
Anderson. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Clinton, Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Science
degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University in 1967.
He married Mary Ann Anderson on July 6, 1968. He began his career with Skelly Oil Company in Tulsa.
He worked as a plant engineer and superintendent for the Shaffer Natural Gas Plant near Pampa, Texas.
He eventually became a regional manager for natural gas liquids operations for Skelly Oil, Getty Oil, and
Texaco. He retired from Chevron-Texaco in 1999 and provided consulting services for many years after
retirement. He was very active in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-Sooner Chapter as John had two sons
who succumbed to Cystic Fibrosis.
John Howard is survived by; his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann (Anderson) of Tulsa, OK; his son, John Joseph
Anderson and wife, Julie Erika, Mount Vernon, IN, and his daughter, Mary Jolene Johnson and husband
Trevor, Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Emily Anderson, Josiah Michael Anderson, Matthias Christopher
Anderson, Isaiah Patrick Anderson, Emma Kate Johnson, Rosemary Anne Anderson, Timothy Joseph
Anderson, and Katelyn Marie Johnson. Two sons, John Christopher Anderson and John Michael
Anderson, preceded John in death. John is also survived by one brother, Orien Edgar Anderson of
Concord, IL. John is preceded in death by his sister, Judith Ann (Anderson) Franing, and his brother, Dr.
Thomas Robert Anderson.

St., Ste. 100, Tulsa, OK 74114. Scripture service will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 6:00pm at
Church of the Resurrection. There will be a visitation Monday, September 25, 2017 from 6:00pm to
8:00pm at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am,
Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Church of the Resurrection with interment at Calvary Cemetery following the mass.
