John C. "Bud" Paul, Sr. was born October 5, 1928, to John and Hilda Paul in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and passed away in Tulsa on October 22, 2014, at the age of 86.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margaret "Sissy" Gilmore, his brothers Herman and Bobby, and his loving wife of more than 50 years, Rose Marie Paul. He is survived by his sisters Joanne Seaton and Elizabeth "Liggie" Blatt, brother Eddie Paul, children Chuck Paul (wife Lou), Janet Moore (husband Dion), Teri Beveridge (husband Ron), Tom Paul (wife Teresa), Rosalie Walker (husband Pat), Sharon Paul, Rita St. Jacques (husband Kyle), Phillip Paul (wife Tammy) and Angela McKean (husband Kevin). He has 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Born and raised in Guthrie, OK, Bud worked at his dad's gas station and was a fireman when he was younger. He married Rose Marie Eustice on January 28, 1950 and moved to Tulsa. He went to work for his father-in-law at Eustice Equipment, selling oilfield supplies, and then in 1960, he worked for A.G. Wadsworth, drilling oil wells. In 1973, Bud bought and ran The Fisherman's Catch, located at 51st and Harvard. He retired from Paschal Distributing then worked part-time at Paul Precision Machine.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at the lake with his family. He has been a member of St. Thomas More Parish since 1976.
Rosary service will be 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2014, and Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday, both at St. Thomas More, 2720 South 129th East Avenue, Tulsa.
