John William Buthod, 90, died Friday, April 19, 2013. John was born February 7, 1923 in Bison, OK and graduated from Sand Springs High School.
On April 8, 1941, he married Betty Lou Walter, who preceded him in death in 2005 after 64 years of marriage. After serving in the European Theater during WWII, he worked in Tulsa in industrial machinery sales.
Fondly remembered as a capable handyman and carpenter and as a long-time volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Tulsa, he enjoyed fishing, antique collecting, yard work, and spending time with his animals and family.
Survivors include his sister, Esther Jones; sons, David W. (Rhondda), Robert E. (Mollie), and Joseph D. (Mary) Buthod; daughters, Donna L. (Robert) Livingston, Jeanne M. (Doug) West, and Mary Ann (Jerry) Metz; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be 7 p.m., Monday, April 22, at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery, Sand Springs.
