John William Doerpinghaus, age 73 of Tulsa, passed away February 22, 2025. John was born in Tulsa on February 27, 1951 to William S. Doerpinghaus and Rose E. (Koerdt) Doerpinghaus. He spent his whole life in the Tulsa area.

John attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and then after graduating from Bishop Kelley High School, he spent a few years at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he was awarded a degree in Mechanical Power Technology.
John worked in and around oilfield measurement for most of his working career.

John loved his dogs, Snap-On tools and John Deere tractors. He was very close to his first nephew, PJ and could not wait to give him his first set of tools.

John is survived by his brother, Phillip J Doerpinghaus Sr. (Mary), niece Sarah Flanagan, and nephew John (Megan) Doerpinghaus, and great-nieces Reagan and Blair Flanagan, and Emma Doerpinghaus.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Phillip J Doerpinghaus, Jr. (PJ).

The family would like to thank the staff and those who served John and cared for him during his years at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately with family.

John will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery next to his nephew PJ.
