John East
John Lynn East, 57, of Sapulpa, passed away on Wednesday, November 3rd, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa. Services are set for 10am Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa, with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Chris, and his three sons, Michael of Atlanta, Kevin of Edmond and Sean of the home. Other survivors include two brothers, David of St. Louis and Jim of Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marjorie East of Muskogee.
The East's had made their home in Sapulpa for almost three decades where John was store manager at the May's Drug Warehouse on Taft Street. He came to Sapulpa fresh after graduation at Southwestern State University in Weatherford.
East was also a Sapulpa City Councilor, representing Ward I. Flags at Sapulpa city offices were being flown at half-mast.
In addition to his elected post and his work, East was active at First Presbyterian Church and was the longtime scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 173 based at Church of St. Mary's in Tulsa. He was an Eagle Scout, as were his two oldest sons, and his third is finishing his Eagle requirements.
