John (Jack) Kneafsey passed away Sunday, November 4, at the age of 86. Jack was born in Philadelphia, PA to John and Mary Kneafsey. He made Tulsa his home since 1970, where he served as vice president of PepsiCo Transportation, managing director of the Tulsa office of Marsh & McLennan, and vice president of Alexander & Alexander. Jack was a proud graduate of St. Thomas More High School in Philadelphia, Villanova University, and the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen, of the home; daughter Kathy and son-in-law Rick Davis of Tulsa, and their children Robert of Tulsa, Zach (Autumn Hail) of Boston, and Jennifer (Marc) White of Edmond; son Mike and daughter-in-law Jennifer Kneafsey of Tulsa and their daughter Lilly. Jack is also survived by family in the Philadelphia area: sisters Kathy Rodgers and Pat McCole, and sisters-in-law Eileen Kneafsey and Emily Gallagher; brother-in-law Dennis, and his wife Mary Daly. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kathleen Daly of Philadelphia. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Mary and John, brother Jim, father-in law Dennis Daly, and sister-in-law Sister Sally Daly, SSJ.
Jack loved to be active and around people. In his retirement, he was active at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, where he served as a lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, RCIA sponsor, Religious Education teacher, and visitor to the homebound and sick. Jack also volunteered through the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP) in several capacities, including teaching computer skills to seniors at Woodland Terrace and Burgundy Place. When he was not volunteering for service organizations around town, Jack loved tinkering around the house or on the computer, and being involved in the lives of his grandchildren.
Jack loved his Irish and Welch heritage and enjoyed listening to Irish music and reading stories of Irish lore and culture. He made several trips to Ireland to visit extended family and learn more about his roots. The American Flag was flown daily at his home and on special occasions he was known to fly his special Betsy Ross Flag.
Rosary: 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. Memorial Mass: 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church.
