MILES, John E. age 67 died Sunday April 12, 2009 in Tulsa. He was born August 19, 1941 to Russell and Lily Gutman Miles in St. Louis, MO. A graduate of University of Arkansas, he was president of Miles Shipping Corp. an International Transportation Company, and founded the Foreign Trade Zone at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa He was a veteran serving in the U. S. Marines. John enjoyed spending his leisure time with his many friends at Arrowhead Yacht Club on Grand Lake. He is survived by his wife, Karen McConnell Miles of the home, sons; Cary Scott Ledbetter of Bixby, Gregory Lynn Ledbetter of Oklahoma City, John Miles, Jr. of Fayetteville AR, and Russell Clayton Miles of Tulsa and 3 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Fitzgerald 3612 East 91st Street. Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel 291-3500.
