John Patrick Clark, 79, Broken Arrow, OK, went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2013 surrounded by family in his home. Pat was born on September 17, 1933 to Harry and Margaret Burkhardt Clark in Audubon, IA. Pat attended school in a one room schoolhouse in Audubon County, later attending Audubon High School and then onto the University of Iowa where, in 1956, he received his degree in Civil Engineering. Being a proud Hawkeye, he remained a loyal fan throughout his life. After graduation, Pat's job in Cedar Rapids, IA took him to Tulsa, OK, where he met the love of his life, Carlene Dees. They were married on August 29, 1959. In 1960, Pat began his rewarding 33 year career with the Army Corps of Engineers in Tulsa, achieving Chief of the Operation Division upon retirement. He also enjoyed a career in the Army Reserves rising to the rank of Colonel. Retirement was good to Pat and provided many wonderful opportunities such as a venture in a small wood crafting business with his wife, golfing with friends and family, traveling around the country watching his grandchildren in their many sports and activities, and spending time with his beloved beagle, Sam. Pat will be remembered lovingly for his strong family values, unconditional love, selflessness, and his willingness to support his family. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Harry Clark, baby brother, Robert Clark all of Audubon, IA, and daughter, Cathy Johnston of Arlington TX.
