PIELSTICKER - JOHN ROBERT (BOB) passed away August 20, 2026. Bob was born in Wichita, Kansas to Robert Francis and Maurica (Callahan) Pielsticker. The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1941 where Bob attended school at Eliot Elementary, Cascia Hall and graduating from Tulsa Central High School in 1953. He received BS and MS degrees from Stanford University where he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity. After graduation he went to work for Cities Service Oil Company in 1958 and worked as a petroleum engineer in Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Odessa, Texas; Corpus Christi, Texas; and El Dorado, Kansas before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he continued his career in a number of engineering and management positions. He retired in 1991 as Director of Property Sales and Acquisitions where he supervised a number of multi-million-dollar transactions for the company.
In his retirement, he remained active at Resurrection Catholic Church where he was a lector, sacristan and adult altar server. He helped at almost every funeral for over twenty years. He was a frequent daily mass attendee. He was a member of Serra International, a Catholic service organization and was President of the Tulsa Stanford University Alumni Club for fifteen years. He was active in his beloved Tulsa Central High School Class of 1953 where he was chairman of three different class reunions including the class's 70th reunion in 2023. He belonged to a number of professional organizations including the Energy Advocates, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma. In 1999, he was elected to be a member of The Stanford University Associates for his many years of service to the university. He loved to be with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, loved to read and exercised almost daily. He was a friend of Bill and Lois for 27 years and volunteered for a number of organizations who deal with drug and alcohol addiction.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Wyatt Pielsticker; his daughter, Cathey Colburn; and his sons, Bill (Sarah) Pielsticker and Bobby (Beth) Pielsticker. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shea (Courtney) Pielsticker, Rebecca (Blake) Johnson, Peyton (Josh) Gonzales, Chelsea Colburn, Robbie (Molly) Colburn, Zach Pielsticker, Jarrod Pielsticker, and Michael Pielsticker; and his great-grandchildren Cam Johnson, Crew Johnson, Pelham Pielsticker, and Elizabeth Colburn; cousin Mary Scott and sister-in-law Carol Pielsticker Bump. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jodi Sheldon Pielsticker; his son, John Christopher Pielsticker; his grandson, Shelby Pielsticker; and his brother, Jim Pielsticker, owner of Arrow Trucking Co.
A visitation will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27 where friends can express their memories of Bob. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church on Friday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at Southern Hills Country Club. The interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Catholic Charities
