On October 6th, 1979, he married the love of his life, Winifred Rhodes and they had their first daughter in Detroit, MI. After a short period living in Little Rock, AR the family settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1999, making the city their home for years to come.
Known for his charm and magnetic smile, Johnny thrived as a car salesman. He didn't just sell cars-he built relationships. His reputation was one of honesty and heart, always putting people over profit. Co-workers remember him as a natural competitor, while customers recall how he could make anyone feel like family.
Beyond work, Johnny was deeply committed to his family, faith, and community. Whether at ministry events or simply sharing a word of encouragement, he carried a hearty joy that lifted others. His contagious laugh was his signature and his prayers were powerful enough to inspire everyone around him. He loved spending time with his family, sailing on Royal Caribbean cruises, and creating memories that will last for generations.
Johnny leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and endurance. He is survived by his devoted wife, Winifred Braggs; two daughters; Adrian and Aundria Braggs; and his treasured grandson, Ezekiel Braggs-Hawkins. He is also remembered by one future son-in-law, one brother, a half sister, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his spirit.
