Joseph "Joe" Braverman, 55, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away in Tulsa, OK on June 5th, 2020, after a long illness.
Joe grew up in Tulsa, where he graduated from Bishop Kelley High School. At Kelley, Joe was the editor of the school newspaper and won the senior talent show with his comedy routine. He would continue to make people laugh throughout his life. Joe graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a degree in political science, and from the University of California/Berkeley Law School.
Joe lived most of his life in the Washington, D.C. area, where he worked and volunteered for many progressive causes and candidates. He loved dogs, the beach, live music, and hiking and camping in national parks.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Sylvia and Irvin Braverman. He is survived by his siblings, Ellen and Michael Frajman of Melbourne, Australia, Lisa Braverman of Tulsa, and Karen and Paul Braverman of Louisville, CO, his nephew Michael, and nieces Jenny and Leah, as well as many friends across the country, and his dog Casey.
