Joseph Maurice Butts
Joe passed away Sunday, June 17, 2016. He was born March 23, 1930, along with twin Katherine.
He attended Marquette school and Tulsa University. He was called to duty by the Marine Reserves for the Korean War in 1950 thru 1952. He fought on the Chosin Reservoir, and respectfully was honored as one of the Chosin Frozen members. He later graduated from T.U. and married Theresa Martin, together they had four sons. Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening and golf.
His career was in marketing with the major oil companies. He was general manager of Madison, Inc. He leaves his wife of 62 years and four sons, 6 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
During his retirement years, he enjoyed many vacations with his sons, grandkids and wife Theresa. He loved to play golf, fish, work in the yard and RVing in every state, Mexico and Alaska. He helped many friends and family throughout his life. You could say he was a people pleaser. He will be missed by many but his spirit will live through all of us.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Foundation or Saint Pius X Building Fund.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E. 91st St., 918-291-3500.
