Joe was born in Tualatin, Oregon, on April 22, 2004, the son of Nathan and Laura Waddell. He was currently a seventh grader, and attended Jenks Public Schools.
Joe was a kind, loving, funny boy who had a tender heart, and was always thinking of others. He had a quick wit, excellent comedic timing, and could throw out a zinger with a wink and twinkle in his eye. He enjoyed Star Wars and Pokémon and of all things, math. He loved artichokes, chilimac, coconut cream pie, pepperoni hot pockets and Mountain Dew Baja Blast. His favorite activities included watching YouTube videos and playing video games with his brother Gabe, dad, and friends. His favorites were Destiny and Overwatch, both at which he excelled. Joe played clarinet in the school band and proudly earned second chair.
Joe knew Jesus, and Jesus knew Joe. On August 9, 2015 he was baptized and as he sprung free from the water, he had the biggest smile, arms held high in excited triumph. He loved serving in our church, and helped with the first graders and in the technology room. Joe is now with his big brothers, Stephen, and Jesus, serving, worshipping and playing in heaven. We who love Joe will miss him until we join him there.
He is survived by his loving family, which include, his parents, Nathan and Laura Waddell, brother, Gabriel Best Waddell, of Jenks, OK, sisters, Tessa Waddell, Caleigh Waddell, both of Jenks, OK, and Emilie Edde, and her husband, Matthew, of Seattle, WA, grandparents, Emilie Waddell Smith, and her husband, Gary, of Jenks, OK, Ralph and Marion Goodell, of Manassas, VA, and James and Janice Waddell, of Vancouver, WA, uncles, Ben Waddell, and his wife, Bing, and their children, Cyle and Abby, of Canoga Park, CA, Aaron Waddell, and his children, Delaney and Kallie, of Portland, OR, and David Goodell, of Fairfax, VA, aunt, Lisa Stewart, and her husband, Walt, and their children, Megan, Ashley, Anna, and
