SHARP, Joseph Arthur, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in Tulsa, OK. He was born June 4, 1921 in Enid, OK to Thomas Sharp and Ethel Margaret Murphy, who preceded him in death. Joe served in the US Navy in WW II. Upon returning he attended the University of Oklahoma Law School. With a good friend, he formed Best-Sharp Law Firm here in Tulsa where he practiced for 50 + years. Joe was very involved at The Church of St. Mary, specifically the Boy Scouts, where he volunteered for over fifty years, guiding many an Eagle Scout along the way. He leaves behind a loving wife and family that will never forget the love and support he provided over the years. He is survived by, wife; Barbara Sharp, Tulsa, OK, sons; Joseph Sharp, Jr., Houston, TX and John Sharp, Tulsa, OK, daughters; Katherine Pickup, Tulsa, OK Mary Johnson and husband Peter, Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, West Africa, grandchildren; Robert and Barbara Pickup, Katrina Plassmeyer, Juliann Kraft, and Jeff, Chris and Kevin Johnson, great-grandchildren; Raelynn Pickup and Ava Plassmeyer, and caregiver; Crystal Hamilton. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Catholic Charities or the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Rosary will be said Sunday, July 5, 2009, 7:30 p.m. at The Church of St. Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 6, 2009 10:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Mary.
