Judith Ann Cunningham

Judith "Judy" Ann Cunningham (nee Morris), 70, passed away at her home on Friday, June 13, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Dan Cunningham; her children, Brad Cunningham and Ashley of Tulsa, OK, Corey Cunningham of Memphis, TN, and Kim Cunningham of Tulsa, OK; her siblings, Wendy Williams and Rayburn of Sallisaw, OK, Shelley Diamond and Mark of McKinney, TX, and Jim Morris and Tracy of Lavaca, AR. She is also survived by her two beloved granddaughters, Phoebe (14) and Sylvie (11), who lovingly called her JuJu and were the light of her life, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Judy was born on January 12, 1955, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Jack and Bernice Morris. At age six, her family relocated to Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she grew up and graduated from Southside High School in 1973. The third of four children, she grew up alongside her older sisters, Wendy and Shelley, and her younger brother, Jim. In 1978, Judy earned her Bachelor's degree in education from the University of Arkansas, where she met and fell in love with Dan Cunningham. The two were married on July 7, 1979, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and celebrated their 45th anniversary in July 2024. Following their wedding, the couple moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where their first child, Brad, was born. In 1981, they settled in Tulsa, where Judy lived for the remainder of her life. There, she and Dan welcomed Corey in 1983 and Kim in 1986. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Judy was a long-time member of both the 29th & Yale Church of Christ and The Park Church of Christ, where she served faithfully in many roles over the years. Education was one of her greatest passions-she was deeply committed to teaching and especially loved helping children learn to read, a gift she passed on to both her children and grandchildren. Her career included teaching elementary school in Fort Smith, preschool at Park Plaza Church of Christ, and kindergarten/first grade at Greater Tulsa Christian Academy. She also taught countless Bible classes, leaving a lasting impact on many lives. During her children's early years, Judy stepped back from full-time teaching to dedicate herself to her family. She was an active and enthusiastic volunteer in her children's schools-serving as a room mom, PTA president, and always lending a helping hand. She found great joy in supporting her children in their academic and athletic pursuits-always proud to cheer them on-and that joy only grew as she supported her granddaughters in the same way. Judy treasured family trips, especially to Disney World with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to bowl, participating in leagues and tournaments throughout her life-it became a tradition the whole family shared and enjoyed together. Judy brought a unique energy and enthusiasm to every aspect of her life, leaving an unforgettable impression on everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3612 E. 91st Street, Tulsa, OK 74137. A celebration of Judy's life will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at The Park Church of Christ, 10600 E. 96th St. S., Tulsa, OK 74133.
