Judith "Judy" Sue Hale, age 79, died on March 7, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.
Judy was born on July 26, 1945 to parents William "Bill" Radke and Laura Doennig Radke, was the youngest of seven children. Judy grew up in Chelsea, OK and graduated from Chelsea High School, then went to Hillcrest Diploma School for Nursing. Later in life Judy attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK and obtained her Bachelors Science of Nursing.
While in Nursing School, Judy met the love of her life, James "Jim" Hale, and they married on March 5, 1966. Judy began her nursing career at the Burn Center at Hillcrest Hospital, and eventually joining Saint Francis Hospital. Throughout her illustrious career at Saint Francis, she served as an ICU bedside nurse, an ICU Instructor, and eventually as a Clinical Quality Improvement Process Coordinator.
Judy was a phenomenal nurse and mentor to many. Her work friends considered her not just a colleague but also a friend and even a second mom, growing up with her at work. After 42 years of unwavering dedication, Judy retired from Saint Francis Hospital in 2022 at the age of 77. Even though she battled cancer, Judy remained grateful for the compassionate care she received from fellow nurses and techs during her journey.
Judy and Jim lived life to the fullest with their daughters, extended family, and friends, hosting countless gatherings filled with camaraderie, laughter, and delicious home-cooked meals.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jamie (Patrick) Robinson of Tulsa, OK, and Jeri "JJ" (David) Lichtenwalner Jr. of Mertztown, PA, along with many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Laura Radke; husband, Jim Hale; sisters, Hildegard Boye, Esther Erdwin, and Shirley Bruce; and brothers, Harold Radke, Herb Radke, and Roy Radke.
