Obituary

Judy Kay was born June 4, 1941 in Sherman, TX to Kay and Joe Lillis. She passed away peacefully on June 13, 2012.
Judy was raised in Sherman and Schulenburg, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana. She graduated from University of Southwestern Louisiana "Ragin Cajuns". In 1962, Judy married her high school sweetheart, Francis Gajan in Lafayette, then moved to Tulsa to start a family. Judy was a full time mom to three boys – Richard, Kevin and Jason. She volunteered many hours at the boys' schools - Marquette and Bishop Kelley. She was an active member of Christ the King and the Church of Madeline. She and Francis raised the boys with three themes – spiritual, educational, and physical development. Judy was high energy and very active in so many things from quilting, art classes, home renovations to tennis, Jazzercise and running the Tulsa Run. She and Francis enjoyed many years sailing, golfing and bike riding at the Coves at Grand Lake.
She served on the Board at the Thorton YMCA, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a docent for Philbrook Museum. Judy is preceded in death by her father, Joe Lillis. She is survived by her mother, Kay Cole, her two brothers – Joe and Jim Lillis, her three sons and six grandchildren – Taylor, Nathan, Peyton, Conner, Natalie and West Gajan, and her loving husband of 49 years, Francis Ray Gajan. A rosary will be at 7:00 pm Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Christ the King. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 18 at 10 am at Christ the King. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels.
