Hanley - Julia Patricia, 94, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born November 23, 1923 in Carroll, IA. She graduated Charter Oak High School in 1941 and Vogue Art and Design School, Chicago, IL, fashion design. She began her fashion career in Chicago and worked with various design houses and Carson Pirie Scott & Co. in window display design. In 1942, she met Joseph F. Hanley, who was stationed in Chicago in the Navy and they married in April, 1943. They were married 64 years, until his death in 2007. Julia and Joseph moved to New Jersey after Joe's WWII service. She was a loving mother to their three children and wife to her husband, Joe. Julia stayed busy with volunteer work at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ and volunteer school activities. Later, Julia's hobbies included oil painting, with art classes in oil and charcoal. She enjoyed her membership and service with Alpha Rho Tau Art Fraternity and membership in the Early American Glass Club. She and Joe travelled the world and Julia would capture their travel pictures in oil when they returned. She was preceded in death by: her loving husband; Joseph Hanley; parents, Charles F. and Mabel (Vollmer) Reilly; and her brother, John Owen Reilly. She is survived by: son, Richard Hanley and wife, Kathy; daughters, Joan P. Parkhurst and husband, Jerry and Julia Ann Jech and husband, Steven; grandsons, Richard Hanley (Danielle), Alexander Jech (Katie), Andrew Jech (Fawn), and Aaron Jech (Allison); and granddaughter, Hillary Parkhurst Sutton (Stephen); great grandsons, Jackson, Jameson, and Joseph Jech.
