Karen Denise Minton of Castle Pines, Colorado passed away peacefully with family at her side on March 9, 2020.
Karen was born on October 14,1949 in Perryton, Texas to Jimmie and Maxine (May) Palmer. Karen grew up in Perryton and graduated from Perryton High School where she was the proud drum major. On September 15, 1968, Karen married John E. Minton from Fay, Oklahoma. Karen attended the University of Oklahoma, Tulsa University and Cal-State Bakersfield.
Karen's greatest joy was being a stay at home mom, and she felt that her children were her greatest accomplishment. Karen enjoyed cooking, china painting, quilting, cross stitch, OU football and attending music concerts with her husband. Karen was a big personality and loved powerfully, she had a quick wit and loved a good joke.
Karen is survived by her husband, John, son, Christopher Minton (Mirjam) of Austin, Texas, daughter, Jennifer Minton (Brad) of Denver, Colorado and her sister Cheryl (Jimmie) Rhoderick of Amarillo, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Karen to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association or the charity of your choice.
Services are at 1:00 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel with a final resting place at Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa Oklahoma.
A Celebration of Life will start at 4:00 p.m. at McNellies Downtown (Tulsa).
