Kari was born in Tulsa on March 29, 1984, the daughter of Dan and Maribeth (Ormsby) Schooley. She grew up in Tulsa, attending Marquette Elementary School and Bishop Kelley High School, graduating in the class of 2002. She continued her education at St. Louis University, where she attained a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in counseling. Kari also continued her professional career and development by obtaining the title of Licensed Professional Counselor. After college, she stayed in St. Louis to pursue her passion for helping children and began working as an education therapist at Our Little Academy, a therapeutic preschool focused on helping young children with behavioral or emotional issues prepare for kindergarten.
Kari put so much love, laughter and passion into everything she did and every relationship she had. She was a very supportive and fiercely loyal friend, daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, and godmother, showing unconditional love to all. Kari made an everlasting impact on so many friends and family members across several cities and states and had a special gift for bringing out the best in everyone. Kari was known by all as one of the most positive, selfless, and courageous people they've ever come in contact with. Kari especially cherished her family, amazing friends and the kids she worked with. She was a loyal fan and loved her St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and St. Louis University Billikens.
