Katherine Nell Jacobs Shanks – Born July 16, 1936 lost her battle with Alzheimer's on November 22, 2018.  Survived by husband John Lee Shanks and two sons John L. Shanks and his wife Kelle of Dallas, TX; and Mark G. Shanks and his wife Michelle of Jenks, OK; and two granddaughters, Riley and Morgan Shanks.

Katherine was born in Port Arthur, Texas, graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor University and received her Master of Library Science from the University of Oklahoma. She was a very spiritual person with a great love for people.  She requested in lieu of a funeral service; "do something especially loving and kind for a loved one".

The family will be hosting a celebration of Katherine's life on December 2, 2018 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Bellarose Senior Living, 18001 E 51st St, Tulsa, OK 74134.  In lieu of flowers please consider donating to University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, Habitat for Humanity, or Alzheimer's Association in honor of Katherine.  We are comforted knowing that Katherine Shanks is back to being Katherine Shanks again.
