Katherine Mull Simonides, 58, of Tulsa, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September
16, 2017. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Friday, September 22, 2017, at
1:00 PM, at Central Church of the Nazarene in Tulsa, OK.
Katherine was born in Greenville, SC, on Christmas Day, 1958, the daughter of Dick and
Alice Mull. As the daughter of an army chaplain, she grew up in many places including
Louisville, KY; Killeen, TX; Newport News, VA; Mannheim and Munich, Germany; Brooklyn, NY;
and Elizabethtown, KY, graduating from Elizabethtown High School in the class of 1976. She
earned a BA in Psychology from Georgetown College, in Georgetown, KY in 1982. After she
married her first husband, Dan, she moved to Tulsa where she worked for Follett Book Store at
Oral Roberts University as a Team Lead for 34 years. She enjoyed her work, her co-workers,
and the students she encountered throughout the years.
She loved to travel and documented her excursions with photographs of her
adventures, including those who shared them with her. She was quite the talker, never having
met a stranger. She adored her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending as much time as she
could with her family.
She experienced unimaginable grief when she lost her first husband, Dan, but found
love and happiness once again when she met her beloved Thomas. Her faith in the Lord was so
great, and her love for Him, even greater. May her legacy of kindness, love, and her spirit of
adventure live on in all who knew and love her.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Simonides, of Tulsa; daughter, Kiersten "Kage"
Gallaugher, and her long-time partner, Tyler Moskowitz, of Tulsa; son, Nicholas "Nick"
Gallaugher, and his wife, Miranda, of Glenpool, OK; daughter, Julie Branyan, and her husband,
Josh, of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Daniel and Drake Gallaugher, of Glenpool, OK; parents,
Dick and Alice Mull, of Elizabethtown, KY; brother, Keith Mull, and his wife, Jamie, of New
Albany, IN; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Louis "Dan" Gallaugher in 2005.
