Katheryn A. Hooper passed away January 30, 2012 in Tulsa, OK, at the age of 94. She was born in 1917 in Grady County, OK, to George and Lula Behrens, the third of nine children and the eldest daughter. She graduated from Pawnee High School several months after her father died, and went to work to help support the family. She met her husband to be, John Hooper, in Stillwater, where he was attending Oklahoma A & M. After his graduation, they married and moved to Illinois. They lived in several states during their marriage eventually returning to OK. They had two children, Marjorie and Robert. She was widowed in 1980 and moved to Oklahoma City, where she lived until 2003 when she moved to Tulsa to be close to her daughter. Katheryn was a talented creative person who excelled at china painting, quilting, and decorative sewing among others. She loved to play games with her sisters and participated with them in an investment club. She traveled extensively with her sister Marie and sister in law Blanche. She is survived by her daughter Marjorie Kolker and husband Ronald of Tulsa, son Dr. Robert Hooper and wife Dana of Paradise Valley, AZ; 2 grandsons, Jeffrey Kolker and wife Catalina of Pryor, OK; Dr. Christopher Kolker and wife Hai of Clinton, OK; 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson, her sister Marie Detwiler of Tulsa, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Simeon's Foundation, 3701 N. Cincinnati, Tulsa, OK. A visitation will be held 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at Saint Simeon's Chapel.
