Kenneth William Bloomberg was born in the midst of the Great Depression in Kansas City Missouri, on April 1st, 1931, to William Kenneth Bloomberg and Klara Katherine (Krobst) Bloomberg. He passed away on December 24th, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at Clarehouse.
Ken was a graduate of Cascia Hall Preparatory School, the University of Tulsa, and the University of Texas Southwest Medical School in Dallas. He served as an Ophthalmologist in the United States Marine Corps in the Panama Canal Zone from 1960 - 1966, during the Korean War, before returning to Tulsa after his honorable discharge. He practiced in Tulsa for many years.
Ken was married to Margaret Rourke Bloomberg from 1984 until her death, in 2023.
Everyone knew and loved Ken for his sense of humor and love of giving unique gifts. We will all miss Ken's storytelling, interesting facts and silly sayings. Ken and Margaret had many friends in Tulsa and around the world and will be dearly missed.
Ken was a stepfather to Margaret's three children, Stephen Smith, Mark Smith, and Eileen Smith Gillen, and a grandfather to four exceptional grandchildren, Rourke Smith, Colin Gillen, Bridget Gillen, and Kevin Gillen.
Ken's funeral will be at Christ the King Parish in Tulsa on Saturday January 11th at 130 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a memorial donation to Clarehouse.org in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
