It was in this field that he found his true passion for business, working at the Leslie Insurance Agency, where he later became a partner. In 1971, Larry joined the Tulsa Home Builders Association and was a board member for over 25 years, where he won many awards including "Associate of the Year", and chaired the annual Tulsa Home and Garden Show.
