Larry Jon Tsosie began his journey on December 28th, 2020. He was raised in Farmington, New Mexico where he graduated from Farmington High School in 1980. He was active in cross country and was a scorpion for life. He then went to Bacone College for a few years. Larry became the director of the wastewater plant for the city of Glenpool in 2000. Larry enjoyed coaching his children and grandchildren in any sport they played. If he was not coaching, he was reffing any local sports league. He enjoyed traveling all over the U.S., attending numerous pow wows with his family. He was an accomplished fancy dancer but soon became one of the best arena directors around on the Oklahoma Pow wow trail.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Tsosie of 39 years, son Christopher Jon Tsosie, grandson Brayson Jaymz Tsosie-Lomakema, his father Howard K. Tsosie, mother Flora M. Prentiss-Tsosie, brother Howard S. Tsosie, Jr. and sister Claudia "Jean" Tsosie. He leaves behind his children, Jessica Tsosie and Willard Lomakema of Claremore, OK; Jennifer and Francis of Chelsea, OK; William and Jeanise of Claremore, OK; and Vernon Tsosie of Claremore OK. His pride and joy, grandbabies, Nazhoni and Minnie Tsosie-Hamilton, Lena Tsosie, Ashkii Tsosie-Stumblingbear, and Christopher Jean Tsosie. Brothers, Wayne Tsosie of Farmington NM, Spencer and Vida Tsosie of Farmington NM, and Dustin Prentiss of Fort Worth TX. Sisters, Savavnia Tsosie of Billings MT, Julia and Doug Thompson of West Valley City, UT, Shirley and James Reeder of Logan, UT, and Tawana and Floyd Foutz of Farmington, NM. He had numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 31st, 2020, at the Quapaw Tribal Longhouse. Burial will be in the Stafford-Shapp Cemetery in Quapaw, Oklahoma.
