Lawrence Robert "Bob" Boyle, 82, of Broken Arrow, passed away with his sons beside him on April 26, 2023. A memorial service will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, with a reception for attendees following.
Bob was born on September 16, 1940, in Tulsa, the son of Lawrence and Alyce Boyle. Bob met his future wife, Janice, in Oklahoma City, and they wed there on February 10, 1962. In 1970, Bob and Janice welcomed two sons, Brad and Chris, into their lives. While their family lived in several cities and states over the years, Broken Arrow was where they raised their sons and returned to when they retired. Bob and Janice were married for fifty-six years at the time of Janice's passing in 2018.
For much of his career, Bob worked in the restaurant business, opening and managing restaurants in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, and Dallas and eventually owning two in Tulsa and Broken Arrow. Later, he worked in other fields and went to school to become a gunsmith, which served as a vocation and a craft.
Survivors include Bob's two sons and their spouses, Brad Boyle and his wife, Cynthia Nixon Boyle, of Tulsa, and Chris Boyle and his husband, Cole Moir, of New York City. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Saxon and Dani Nixon of Catoosa, Madison and Justin Robinson of Broken Arrow, and Zoe Boyle of Chicago, four great-grandchildren, his sister Jane Douglas Adair of Oklahoma City, and his brother Mike Boyle of Wimberly, TX. He was blessed to have an extended family and a family of friends, many of whom he had known for decades and have greatly supported Bob's immediate family as they have navigated his passing.
