Dr. Lawrence "Larry" Charles Green was born October 23, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dr. Charles and Jenny Green. He was the oldest son of five children. In the mid-1940s, the family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, where Larry attended public school and played football for Lawton High School. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and then the University of Oklahoma Medical School, where he earned his MD. After medical school, Larry took an internship at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He also served in the National Guard.
In 1970, Larry established Green Medical Clinic in Arkansas City, Kansas. He continued to serve his clients in private practice for more than two decades while raising three children and commuting from Wichita, Kansas (where the family had moved). He then practiced as an ER doctor in Nebraska and Oklahoma for several years.
Larry was a great fan of luxury and fast cars. He was an owner and driver for Larry Green/Bauer Racing, competing in many Trans-Am races in the late 1970s and 1980s. He also loved travel, classic movies and Oklahoma and Nebraska college football.
Larry passed away on March 15, 2024, less than a year after his second wife, Sharon, whom he loved dearly, passed away. He is lovingly survived by his three children, 11 grandchildren and three sisters.
