Leon A. Mullins, a very kind and loving husband, stepfather, grandpa and ggpa, died 6/24/18 at Montereau Health Center. He was born 10/6/1927 in Oklahoma City to Chloe (Bass) and Burton Mullins. He later moved to Amarillo, TX with his Mother and beloved stepfather, Ralph Cole. There he formed his passion for Indian Motorcycles and piloting planes. He graduated from Amarillo High School. One of his proudest achievements was becoming a Marine SSgt and he proudly served in both the Korean War and World War II. He attended West Texas State prior to entering a career in pharmaceutical sales where he worked for 38 years and retired in 1990. Leon survived a severe stroke in 2002 and his loving wife, Phyllis, was his primary caregiver for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, Chloe and Ralph Cole and brother Egbert Mullins. He is survived by wife, Phyllis; two stepdaughters, Linda Hopkins (Johnnie) and Janet Ellsworth Gutman (Seth); five grandchildren, Jennifer Hitchcock (Michael), Brent Hopkins, Angie Collier (Jeff), Todd Ellsworth, Eric Ellsworth (Whitney); and eight great grandchildren, Cameron and Chelsea Hitchcock, Sam and Lucy Collier, Olivia, Holden, Luke, and Reid Ellsworth; and friend, Wes Ellsworth. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Montereau staff for their love and donations may be made to the Montereau Benevolent Fund. Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
