Leslie Shawn Belden was granted her angel wings on November 20, 2011. For 34 years Leslie shared her amazing spirit and smile with everyone around her.
Leslie's life would seem too short to many, but for those who were touched by her, understood that the quality of existence far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. Her contagious smile and laugh still remains in our eyes, ears and most importantly our hearts.
Leslie has always had a love for music. Ever since she was a young girl she loved to dance. She started dancing with the Dancing Darlings, where she tied strong bonds with her 3 sisters and many friends, all sharing the love of song and dance. As Leslie grew up her love of music remained and she toured the country dancing in the crowds to her favorite musicians. She focused her last years of her life learning to play the guitar and writing music of her own. She was paying-it-forward to her sweet niece Dakota Penn by teaching her to love music and to play the guitar. Her love for music is shared and passed to her other nieces and nephews. Her nieces Ezrie and Hailey both love to sing, Sterling plays the piano and Dakota plays the guitar.
Leslie was a cherished daughter and sister. The youngest of four girls she was our baby sister and nick named "Duck". She had an overwhelming joy of showering her love and laughter upon her nieces and nephews. Leslie had the blessed privilege of spoiling them, with all her love and spending time with them.
Leslie was an advocate and example of "Living Life" and not just watching it pass us by. She spent much time outdoors; boating, camping, hiking and biking. She found paradise in Rosta Rica where her remains will be scattered.
Leslie is survived by her loving mother, Sandra Belden Wade; Sisters Tracie Dyer, Dana Penn and Kelly Ferrell; nieces Moragen Ferrell, Hailey Ferrell, Dakota Penn, and Ezrie Dyer; nephews Sterling Dyer, Austen Dyer, Daxton Penn, Avery Dyer, Ashton Dyer, Stone Ferrell, and Case Ferrell; her brother-in-law Cannen Ferrell, her soul mate Brian Caines and Les McGee.
